Qualcomm now worth more than Intel

Quite a surprise

According to the latest market capitalization ranking of companies, Qualcomm managed to pull ahead of Intel. This comes as a big surprise despite the fact that Qualcomm is certainly not a small company and has been doing quite well with its Snapdragon SoCs lately.

According to the S&P 500 list of companies maintained by Standard & Poor's, Qualcomm is currently ranked at 29th spot with a total of US $113.82 billion value while Intel is just one place below it with a value of US $111.85 billion. The market capitalization gives a clear insight in the value of the company as it actually uses stock values of companies. It is basically the total value of the issued shares of a publicly traded company which is equal to the share price times the number of shares outstanding.

Qualcomm is certainly doing quite well now and we just can't help to wonder what will be their next move.
