As it gave its Surface RT a US $150 price drop, it was just a matter of time before we see something similar done with Microsoft Surface Pro that has now been slashed down to US $799 and $899.
Since the sales of Surface tablets, mildly said, have not been going well for Microsoft, it has decided to quietly take US $100 off both of its Surface Pro tablets. The Surface Pro 64 and 128GB are now priced at US $799 and $899 and although the discount will be available until August 29th, we will not be surprised if Microsoft decides to hold the same discount or even cut the price further as we draw closer to the magical Christmas shopping period.
According to a statement from a Microsoft spokeperson made for Engadget, "We've (Microsoft) been seeing great worldwide success with Surface RT pricing and keyboard-cover promotions over the past several months and our proud to offer Surface Pro at more affordable prices starting today."
In any case, Microsoft's Surface Pro is certainly a nice piece of hardware but the price has been its biggest problem.
