Lange dauerte es und einige Gerüchte musste die Fan-Gemeinde von Doom III über sich ergehen lassen bis Todd Hollenshead, CEO von id Software, heute bestätigte, dass Doom III definitiv fertig sei.
Der 5. August soll dabei den Tag darstellen, an welchem das Game offiziell in den Amerikanischen online Shops auftauchen soll.
