During the last weeks we have talk about the GeForce Partner Program and all the rumors that it has created. Well it doesn't matter anymore since NVIDIA has killed the program. The company put up a blog post today that says that NVIDIA has decided to cancel the program.
In the blog post, NVIDIA emphasizes that the GeForce Partner Program (GPP) was about transparency. NVIDIA wanted to make sure that "gamers who want NVIDIA tech get NVIDIA tech." It's a little bit difficult to imagine someone stepping into a store with the intent to buy a GeForce and walking out with a Radeon on accident.
The company specifically notes that the GPP wasn't an attempt to take control of its partners' brands. According to NVIDIA, all the partners agreed with the goal of making sure that the GPU brand was transparent to the purchaser. In any case, the GPP is behind us now. All the partners are updating again their sites in order to show up all the products like before the GPP mess.
Since ASUS introduced a new series of Radeon graphics cards with the GeForce Partner Program, could be interesting to see the impact of this action on the company.
