AMD Ryzen 7 2700X overclocked to 5.8GHz

Ryzen 7 2600X spotted too

Videocardz has spotted a couple of overclocking scores published on the CPU-Z database of two upcoming Ryzen 2000 CPU series. Although the frequency is rather high on both CPUs, the scores aren't close enough to the current world record. At the moment the highest clock achieved and verified by HWBot is 5.9GHz on Ryzen 5 1600X from der8auer.

Both records have been achieved with an MSI X470 motherboard. While the Ryzen 7 2700X has been pushed on the flagship MSI X470 Gaming M7 AC, the Ryzen 5 2600X has been used on a MSI X470 Gaming Plus motherboard. Aside of that there are G.Skill DDR4 memory set to work at DDR4-1866 using CL13 timings.

Since AMD's Ryzen 2000 CPUs aren't available yet, we expect to see even higher clock speeds from other overclockers soon. In addition the motherboard's BIOS might still not be completely ready for extreme overclocking and during the upcoming weeks we will see several updates from manufacturers.
