ASUS has been the first manufacturer to come up with AMD AM4 400-series motherboards. Already a few weeks ago, we have seen first details on upcoming ATX models, which are based on AMDs AM4 chipset. Meanwhile, there are finally more details on the ROG Strix X470-I motherboard.
The ASUS ROG Strix X470-I offer the same features and connectors of the Intel version, the only difference between these two model is the chipset. Both boards feature a mini-ITX form factor with two DDR4 DIMM slots. On the storage side we find one M.2 slot, four SATA ports, four USB 3.1 ports and two USB 3.1 Gen2 ports. Looking at expansion slots we find one PCIe Gen 3.0 x16 slot with metal reinforcement.
The most interesting feature of this board is that their audio solution actually comes on a daughterboard suspended above the PCB. That daughterboard also sports a M.2 socket. The whole thing is covered by an aluminum plate with RGB LED-illuminated ROG logo.
We are quite curious to see how the upcoming Ryzen high-end CPUs will perform on this new motherboard since this is the first ASUS X470 mini-ITX model.
