ASRock will release a Phantom Gaming for mining too

Four GPUs only for miners

A few days ago, ASRock has unveiled the first series of graphics cards announcing the "Phantom Gaming" based on AMD's RX-500 series. Before this announcement, several sites reported that ASRock was working on graphics cards for miners as well. According the latest rumors, it looks like that the company might release four more models during next weeks.

According to Coindesk, an ASRock US employee has confirmed that the company might release four new graphics cards for "mining only". Following an internal presentation slide leaked by Videocardz, ASRock should release five different SKUs of the Phantom Gaming RX 570 and four of them might target the mining market. The fifth SKU should aim gamers only although it will sport the same product branding.

When a vendor unveils a new series of graphics cards, we don't see usually several details about individual SKUs. The leaked slide shows few interesting details that might be importat for miners, for example we know what kind of memory will be used inside each version of the RX 570. As you might know, Samsung memory is usually the best choice since they tend to overclock higher compared the competitors. This aspect is rather important because in this way, you might get a better result with mining algorithms.

At the moment there isn't any additional information but we will surely keep an eye on that.
