NCore V1 is a water block for delidded CPUs

Compatible with LGA 1151 socket

Everytime that Intel releases a new CPU, everyone start asking if it can be delidded and what are the improvements. Once the CPU is delidded, you have to find a good compromise for the pressure of your CPU cooler. Ncore V1 is the first water block designed for delidded processors and it even comes with a delidding tool included in the delivery.

As you might know a processor can be soldered or non-soldered. Inside the non-soldered processors, like the current Coffee Lake series from Intel, there is a small amount of thermal paste between the CPU die and the underside of the IHS. The thermal paste is necessary in order to fill the gap between that two components. If you want delid your CPU, you might do it for two reasons: the first is change the thermal compound with a better one and the second goal is direct cooling the processor.

Since the water block has been designed to cool the CPU die specifically, it should perform a bit better than the competitors. According to the manufacturer that has published the project on KickStarter, the NCore V1 should perform rather good and it might allow more overclocking headroom. Design wise, the NCore V1 sports a rather skeleton design and the block is a bit smaller than the LGA 1151 retention bracket.

The NCore V1 has been sent to HardOCP, LinusTechTips and Bullzoid, and during the next days we might read some reviews about it. On following you can find the project posted on KickStarter.
