According to latest rumors, ASRock might unveil two X470 Taichi motherboards based on the same PCB. The main difference between this two models regards the ethernet LAN chip. While the X470 Taichi should might pack Intel Gigabit chip, the Ultimate version should sport the more expensive Aquantia 10Gb chip. Furthermore the X470 Ultimate comes with several onboard buttons.
The X470 Taichi features a black PCB with covers made from dark metal. Although at the moment we haven't many details about this model, the X470 Taichi might be a more budget-oriented model, which comes with a similar feature set like the Fatal1ty X470 Professional Gaming motherboard.
Having a more detailed look at the board we see three PCIe Gen 3.0 slots with steel reinforcements and two PCIe slots. Between the first and the second full-sized PCIe slot there are two slots distance providing plenty of space for graphics cards to breathe in the case of multi-GPU setups. On the storage side we see two M.2 slots and there are eight SATA ports. Compared to the X370 Taichi series, we find a different color scheme and design.
Apart from that ASRock will offer the same features that can be found on the vendor's Z370 based boards. For example we find a Purity Sound 4 audio solution, a debug LED, USB 3.1 and RGB headers.
