ASUS teases with first AMD X470 motherboard

ROG STRIX series maybe

At the moment there is only one picture showing part of the layout of an alleged ROG STRIX X470 motherboard. Like the previous model the new one features a completely black color scheme with grey accents on the PCB. According to the first leaks, X470 motherboards appear to be very similar to the X370 models, however since GDC will start today we expect to see soon more pictures.

According to the image, it looks like this board is based on an ATX or micro-ATX form-factor with your standard four DIMM slots. Despite the ROG STRIX series belonging - at least with X370 chipsets - to the mid-range series, we can already spot a few nice features that can usually be found on higher-end boards. There is for instance an I/O cover as well as a bunch of 4-pin PWM headers.

If you are thinking about buying a new PC, which is based on AMD's X-series chipset, we suggest to wait a few weeks since by then AMD Ryzen 2000 will be out.
