It looks like the reference clock speeds of the AMD RX 500 series graphics cards have been leaked. According to the latest rumors, the upcoming AMD RX 500 series cards come with significantly higher core clock speeds compared to the previous generation.
The difference between the RX 500 series and the AMD's older RX 400 series is more or less 150 MHz. For example the Core speeds on the AMD RX 580 have been increased from 1120 MHz (AMD RX 480) to 1257 MHz (AMD RX 580). The boost clocks are affected likewise. At the moment the AMD RX 580 reference features a Core/Boost frequencies that is higher than most overclocked/aftermarket RX 480 variants. On the RX 570 the gap is even bigger since the new card features Core/Boost frequencies of 1168/1244 MHz while the previous model clocked at 926/1206 MHz.
One of the most interesting changes in the new series is the RX 560. This card doesn't feature only higher clock speeds but also more cores compared to the older RX 460. The AMD RX 560 features 1024 GPU Cores, a Base clock of 1175 MHz and a Boost clock of 1275 MHz. Last but not least AMD has also introduced the RX 550 which will feature 512 GPU Cores and the price will be around $80 US. So far AMD has not revealed details on pricing and availability regarding their new series of graphics cards but we expect the prices to be a little bit higher than with the old RX 400 series.
