MSI offers 1080 with faster memory

Available soon

During the last GDC, NVIDIA announced the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti and also the upcoming release of faster GTX 1060 and 1080 graphics cards. Right after Gigabyte, MSI has now also updated the GTX 1080 with faster memory compared to the reference design.

The GeForce GTX 1080 GAMING X Plus now has 11 Gbps GDDR5X memory and we expect to see a new GTX 1060 with 9 Gbps GDDR5 as well. The GeForce GTX 1080 GAMING X Plus comes with a black and red heatsink, a dense aluminum fin stack and several heatpipes. The metal shroud has been painted black and on the flipside there is a backplate. The cooler is the same one that you can find on the GTX 1080 GAMING X. Even the Core/Boost frequencies are exactly the same that you can find on the GeForce GTX 1080 GAMING X 8G.

So far MSI has not revealed any details on pricing and availability regarding their new graphics card. Since the GeForce GTX 1080 GAMING X Plus 8G is just a refresh of the current version, we expect to see a price that is very close to the current model. At the moment the GeForce GTX 1080 GAMING X 8G is available on Geizhals for 568 Euro.
