A few days ago, ASUS has presented two graphics cards which are based on the new flagship chip - GP102 - from NVIDIA. While there are still no details available on the GTX 1080 Ti Turbo, the ROG STRIX GeForce GTX 1080 Ti has meanwhile been outlined with pictures.


The ASUS ROG STRIX GeForce GTX 1080 Ti features a custom PCB with a 10+2 phase power design and a triple-fan cooler. The heat sink comes with a dense aluminum fin stack and several heatpipes. The metal shroud has been painted black and on the flipside there is a good looking backplate. Overall this cooler looks quite similar to the one we can find on the ASUS ROG STRIX GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card.

Checking the specs we see that the ASUS ROG STRIX GeForce GTX 1080 Ti comes factory-overclocked to 1594MHz/1708MHz Core/Boost clocks, while the GTX 1080 Ti Founders Edition works at 1480MHz/1582MHz Core/Boost frequencies. This is a decent factory OC, yet not completely over the top. On the connector side we find two DisplayPorts 1.4, two HDMI 2.0b connector and one dual-link DVI port. Since the latest enthusiast grade ASUS components have been equipped with an armada of LEDs for RGB lighting, this particular card is no different and comes with RGB LEDs on both sides.

Thanks to our friends over Cowcotland we also have some pictures of this card. According to them, the new ASUS ROG STRIX GeForce GTX 1080 Ti graphics card is wider and thicker than the GTX 1080 STRIX. At the back there are two additional fan headers where you can plug case fans and monitor them using the ASUS software. Furthermore Cowcotland reveals that ASUS is developing a GTX 1080 Ti ROG POSEIDON (POSEIDON-GTX1080TI-P11G-GAMING). If ASUS is not gonig to change the concept of their Poseidon cards, then it will be equipped with a hybride air/water cooler.
