With Ryzen AMD is on the verge of launching their new high-end desktop processors. The lineup includes octa-core, hexa-core as well as quad-core parts but nevertheless customers will also expect even cheaper parts to follow and in that case we’re talking about upcoming APUs.


So far it looks like AMD is going launch their Zen based APUs somewhen towards the end of this year. Following a question asked on Reddit an AMD representative mentioned that the during the second half of 2017 APUs are going to follow and complete the portfolio.

Like the current APUs also the ones, which are going to be based on the new Zen architecture will feature a CPU as well as a GPU part. In this case it’s going to be interesting to see what GPU configurations AMD is going to use. As of today it looks like the launch of the upcoming Vega architecture is not too far ahead anymore. An APU launch that is to take place during the second half of this year could imply that the Vega architecture is will be the basis for the integrated GPU.
