New speculation on AMD Ryzen prices

Rumors from Chiphell

On the Chinese Chiphell forum new information and speculation about the upcoming AMD Ryzen processors have been released. According to the latest rumors, AMD will release Ryzen in late February but the motherboard BIOS are still not finished. According to the source we might expect a poor availability due to a BIOS issues.

Although these are speculations, we might see AMD Ryzen 8-core CPUs by the end of February. The 4-core models will be launched a few months later. It looks like AMD will structure their CPU launch similar to Intel, first releasing high-end model and at later stage the mid-range processors. In addition, according to the rumors, the price of the 8-core might be higher than expected.

The new 8-core chip might hit a price between 580 to 720 USD. Regarding the quad core chip there are still no rumors. So far it appears we’re one month before the launch of the AMD’s Ryzen chips and the motherboard BIOS are not yet ready. This really bears the question if there will actually be finished products available alongside the CPU launch or will the entire launch be postponed.
