MSI unveils H270M Mortar Arctic Edition

An entirely white motherboard

The H270M Mortar Arctic Edition from MSI is a mid-range motherboard that comes with a few interesting features. Compared to the previous model, which goes by the name B150M Mortar Arctic Edition, we see a similar color scheme, completely in white - as the name suggests - and a reworked layout and a higher grade chipset.

Like the same model from the previous generation the H270M Mortar Arctic Edition is based on an mATX form factor with four DDR4 slots. The old model was quite similar in terms of design but it was based on Intel’s B150 chipset, which meant there were less features such as connectors in general. Since the H270M Mortar Arctic Edition belongs to the new family of products, it also comes with RGB backlight and there are steel reinforcements on PCIe slots.

There are six angled SATA ports and one M.2 slot. Although fancy designs can usually only be found on high-end products this H270 based motherboard proves different. Apart from a white PCB there an I/O cover.

Price-wise this board could be placed somewhere between the entry-level and the mid-range segment, making this quite an interesting product if you want a board that looks special but doesn’t cost too much.
