During the CES 2017 in Las Vegas AMD has shown a system based on a Ryzen processor and Vega graphics card. This is not the first time that AMD shows a system with this kind of components, a few weeks ago they displayed a similar system during the Tech Day in Sonoma California. The difference is that this time the system was running Star Wars Battlefront at 60 fps on a UHD display with probably Ultra quality settings.
At the moment there aren't any details about the system, for instance we don't know which kind of cooler has been used and we also don’t know about clock speeds of CPU and GPU. Nevertheless the frame rates the system was able to crank out look promising. Although we’re well aware that Star Wars Battlefront doesn't require a powerful CPU, the level of performance the Vega graphics card appears to offer could quite possibly be on par with NVIDIA’s GTX 1080 or even the Titan X Pascal.
According to some sources, the AMD test system was able to provide a frame rate of 60 fps at 4K resolution with ultra settings. A similar system based on Nvidia GTX 1080 would get an average of 48 fps. If these really are reliable values then Vega looks like a very interesting graphics card. But for now all the numbers and figures have to be taken with a grain of salt.
