According to the latest report, a total discrete GPU shipments were up by over 20 percent during this quarter, with Nvidia as a big winner with over 39 percent increase in GPU shipments.
According to a report from Jon Peddie Research, total discrete GPU shipments have increased by 20.4 percent this quarter, with AMD, Intel and Nvidia all showing an increase in GPU shipments.
According to the same report, AMD increased its GPU shipments by 15.38 percent, while Intel managed to ship 17.70 percent more GPUs. The big winner is Nvidia, which managed to ship 39.31 percent more GPUs compared to the last quarter.
Nvidia's massive increase can be attributed to the new Pascal GPU, which was quite impressive and Nvidia used the momentum to ship as many GPUs as possible, covering all market segments.
The same report also shows that discrete GPUs were used in 34.84 percent systems shipped during this quarter, which is a 7.06 percent increase compared to the last quarter.
It appears that Q3 2016 was quite good for Nvidia, AMD and Intel, at least when it comes to GPUs.
