HTC hints next-gen VR headset for CES 2017

The HTC Vive 2

It appears that we might see next-gen VR headsets earlier than expected as an HTC executive has hinted that something might be coming at CES 2017 show in January.

Currently, there are no further details on hardware upgrades or any other changes that might be included in the next-gen headset but earlier information already revealed that Valve/HTC have been working on a second-generation of the Lighthouse tracking system.

The next-gen tracking system promises to reduce the amount of components needed in the headset which should eventually reduce the price, making the headset more affordable.

According to a report from TechCrunch, an HTC executive noted that CES 2017 is going to be very interesting, hinting that we might at least hear more about the second-generation HTC Vive VR headset or even see it.

Unfortunately, there were no additional details but if such VR headset exists, we are sure we will hear more about it by the end of this year.
