Acer officially unveils Predator 21 X gaming notebook
Gaming notebook with a 21" curved display
At IFA 2016 show in Berlin, Acer has now officially unveiled the world's first curved screen gaming notebook, the 21-inch Acer Predator 21 X.
Built around a huge 21-inch 2560x1080 resolution 2,200R curved IPS panel with Nvidia G-Sync support, the Acer Predator 21 X is definitely a gaming beast. It also integrates Tobii eye-tracking technology, which can track users eyes and provide much better control.
Packing a wide choice of Intel's 7th generation Core Kaby Lake CPUs, up to 64GB of DDR4 memory and two Geforce GTX 1080 graphics cards working in SLI.
With a 21-inch screen size, Acer certainly had enough room to pack all those components inside the notebook, including also up to 4TB of SSD storage as well as a full-size mechanical keyboard with Cherry MX switches and customizable RGB backlight. It also comes with a numpad that can be lipped over and turned into a Precision Touchpad.
In addition to all that, it also features SoundPound 4.2+ (4 speakers and 2 subwoofers) audio and all other notebook related features.
In order to keep all those components well cooled, including two GTX 1080 GPUs, Acer equipped the Predator 21 X with a total of five fans, three of which will use AeroBlade metal fins.
While it does qualify as a notebook due to its design, the Acer Predator 21 X is more a desktop replacement than any other notebook on the market. While it might be portable, it weighs a stunning 8kg, so good luck in carrying it around.
Unfortunately, Acer did not reveal any details regarding the price or the availability date but this one won't be cheap judging from its hardware specifications and set of features.
