AMD stock gains 9.8 percent over weekend

Riding the Polaris and Zen news

AMD stock has rose up by 9.8 percent over the weekend on recent news regarding Polaris GPU architecture and Zen CPU architecture.

AMD is preparing to launch its first Polaris-based RX 480 graphics card on June 29th and has recently unveiled a bit more details regarding its Zen CPU architecture, all of which has led to its stock to rise almost 10 percent over weekend.

AMD is currently doing really well and hopefully, both the upcoming Polaris-based graphics cards and Zen-based CPUs and APUs, will finally get the company back on track as recently, AMD has not been doing so well.

AMD will hurt Nvidia where it matters, at the mainstream market segment and while Nvidia and its Pascal-based GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 graphics cards might not have competition in the high end market segment, the mainstream market segment matters much more.

Of course, Nvidia won't sit idly so we expect its answer soon.
