ASRock X99 Taichi motherboard is impressive

An all-rounder X99 motherboard

During Computex 2016 show, we had a chance to take a closer look at ASRock's new all-rounder X99 Taichi motherboard, with its black and white design and some rather impressive features which make an interesting choice to pair with upcoming Intel Broadwell-E CPUs.

The ASRock X99 Taichi packs a 12-phase VRM design and comes with three PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots, all steel reinforced. It is also one of the first motherboards to have an included water pump header, making it a bit more easier to use with liquid cooling systems.

The rest of the known specifications include dual Ultra M.2 32Gbps ports (one reserved for WiFi), ten SATA 6Gbps ports,USB 3.1 Type-A and USB 3.1 Type-C ports, dual Intel Gigabit Ethernet and integrated dual-band 802.11ac WiFi, Purity Sound 3 audio, dual BIOS and more.

The ASRock X99 Taichi motherboard is based on a black and white color design with some rather unique graphics on the board so it will be interesting to see some custom builds using that color scheme.

The ASRock X99 Taichi should be available soon with a suggested price of US $219.
