AMD shows Rx 480 running Doom at Polaris event

At 1440p and 144Hz

AMD showed a rather interesting setup at its Polaris editors day held recently, which was based on Rx 480 graphics card.

The setup was running Doom game at 1440p and 144Hz, and judging by the name, this is believed to be the Polaris 10 GPU. Judging from the performance spotted at the event, this could put the Polaris 10 performance somewhere between the Radeon R9 390X and the R9 Nano.

This sounds quite good, especially if the price ends up to be in the rumored $250 to $300 range.

Since the pictured setup lists the graphics card as the Rx 480, it appears that AMD has still to decide if this will be the R9 480 or the R9 480X.

AMD is expected to unveil more details at Computex event on May 31st.
