be quiet! has unveiled its newest flagship PC case, the Dark Base 900. The Dark Base 900 will be available in two versions, standard and Pro version which will pack some extra features.
While mostly known for its power supply units as well as cooling, be quiet! has recently ventured into PC case market with its Silent Base series and Silent Base 600 and Silent Base 800 PC case which were quite good. Today, be quiet! has introduced its newest and much higher-end PC case, the Dark Base 900.
The Dark Base 900 is a "super midi tower" PC case made from 0.8-1mm SECC steel, aluminum and ABS plastic parts (4mm tempered glass panel on the Pro version) which measures at 242.7x585.5x577.2mm. Although described as a mid-tower PC case, the Dark Base 900 supports motherboards ranging from mini-ITX up to E-ATX and has extensive liquid cooling support as well as a few other features.
It also supports up to 470mm long graphics cards (325mm with HDD trays), up to 284mm long PSUs and up to 185mm tall CPU coolers. It comes with 8 PCI expansion slots, has two 5.25-inch drive bays, seven 3.5-inch and a total of 14 + 1 2.5-inch drive bays.
When it comes to cooling, it supports three 140mm front fans, four 120mm (3x140mm or 1x180mm) fans at the top, two 140mm fans at the bottom, single 140mm at the back and even optional two 120mm fans on the side panel. It comes bundled with two 140/1000 SilentWings-3 fans at the front and single 140/1000 SilentWings-3 fan at the rear.
It also comes with support for up to 420mm liquid cooling radiator both the front and top as well as single 140mm at the rear or 240mm at the bottom.
The Dark Base 900 also comes with plenty of unique features like the removable tray that can actually be inverted and is decoupled from the rest of the case which should reduce vibrations. Both standard and the Pro model come with a fan controller but the Pro version also has support for LED strip as well as a power connector for the Qi Wireless charger located on the top panel.
Both the standard and Pro versions of the be quiet! Dark Pro 900 PC case should be available in July with a price set at US $199 and US $249, respectively. This means that additional US $50 will get you tempered glass side panel, Qi Wireless charger, RGB LED strips and better fan controller.
