Crucial is working on a successor of its popular performance-segment MX200 SSD series, the new Crucial MX300.
To be initially launched in a 750GB capacity, model CT750MX300SSD1, the MX300 SSD series from Crucial will feature 3D NAND flash. Unfortunately, there are no precise details as the MX300 was spotted in Japan, priced at ¥24,000, which also suggest that it could be a sub-$200 SSD.
The Crucial MX200 SSD series is available in 2.5-inch SATA, mSATA and M.2 form-factors and in 250GB, 500GB and 1TB capacities. The Crucial MX300 SSD series will probably first fill the 750GB gap and them come in other capacities as well.
The 750GB model is rated with sequential transfer speed of 530MB/s for read and 510MB/s for write, which lines up with similar competing models.
The Crucial MX300 SSD series should be officially unveiled today or later this week so we will surely keep an eye on it.
