G.Skill launches new 128GB 3000MHz DDR4 kit

Aimed at Intel X99 systems

When 64GB is just not enough, G.Skill has announced its newest 128GB DDR4 Ripjaws V memory kit, clocked at 3000MHz, and aimed to be used on Intel's X99 platform.

Based on eight 16GB DIMM memory modules clocked at 3000MHz, the new G.Skill Ripjaws V kit has CL14-14-14-34 latency and needs 1.35V to work at rated settings.

While there is no official support for 16GB DIMMs on Intel's X99 motherboards and Haswell-E CPUs, some Motherboard vendors have already issued BIOS updates enabling 16GB modules.

Earlier, G.Skill also released a similar, but faster, 64GB (4x16GB) DDR4-3200 Ripjaws V memory kit aimed to be used on Intel's Z170 platform and Skylake CPUs.

As expected, G.Skill advertises the new kit as the highest-end DDR4 kit available to build an ultimate workstation for content creation, 3D rendering, scientific calculation or other professional applications.

Unfortunately, G.Skill did not reveal any details regarding the price but did note that the new Ripjaws V 128GB DDR4-3000 kit should be available by the end of this month.
