Oculus has finally announced that it will open up pre-orders for Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) headset on Wednesday, when the company will also officially announce the price. The news comes just a few days after the announcement that Oculus Touch controllers will be delayed.
Earlier details from Oculus said that Oculus Rift VR headset will be available in Q1 2016 and priced at over US $300 but we did not have any specific date or the price. Today, Oculus was kind enough
to announce at its official blog that pre-orders will open up at 8am PST (4pm GMT) on Wednesday, January 6th 2016.
Oculus is definitely one of the biggest names when it comes to virtual reality market and everyone expects that it will be a starting point for the boom of the virtual reality market. Oculus has also promised that it will share more details when pre-orders go live.
Earlier, Oculus has also announced that those that pre-order the Rift VR headset will get two free games, Lucky's Tale and EVE Valkyrie.
On a similar note, reports suggest that Oculus Touch controllers have been delayed and expected to ship out sometime in Q2 2016. Oculus said that it needs time to make the Oculus Touch controllers perfect, despite the positive feedback from testers and those that pre-order the Rift VR headset will have to use the Xbox gamepad.
