During its European Investor Conference, Electronic Arts has admitted that Star Wars Battlefront does not have the depth gamers wanted as it was designed to be more accessible to a wide age group.
While it might have broken a record or two during its beta phase, Star Wars Battlefront is simply not as popular as EA hoped and has not been doing as well as some other titles that were released during the same time frame, as for example, Fallout 4.
During the European Investor Conference, EA's Chief Financial Officer, Blake Jorgensen, said that EA has designed the game to be much more accessible product to a wide age group. Since it is the only teen-rated first-person shooter, it targets much wider audience but it also mean that hardcore gamers might not get a the depth they wanted in the game.
EA also hopes that Star Wars Battlefront will become a bit more popular as Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie starts hitting movie theaters in mid-December.
While most reviews and gamers agree that the game is fun, it tends to quickly become boring and does not have what earlier Battlefield titles had.
