Lenovo unveils ThinkPad P40 Yoga workstation notebook

While Lenovo already had a decent ThinkPad mobile workstation in its Thinkpad 10, it has now unveiled a new ThinkPad P40 Yoga, a multi-mode mobile workstation that will bring a bit more power to those needing a mobile workstation that can turn into a tablet and has support for a stylus.

As it was the case with all the previous Yoga series notebooks from Lenovo, the new ThinkPad P40 Yoga mobile workstation can also be used a a standard notebook but can also be folded back and used as a tablet. It comes with Lenovo's Lift 'n' Lock" design which has a panel that folds in order to protect the keyboard while the notebook is used in alternate orientations.

Based on a wide choice of Intel 6th generation Skylake Core i7 CPUs, 16GB of DDR3L RAM, 512GB SSD and plenty of ther featues including Intel's 2x2 802.11ac WiFi and Bluetooth 4.1 vPro, three USB 3.0 ports, 3-cell 53WHr battery which should keep it alive for around eight hours, recognizable Thinkpad Precison backlit keyboard, and Windows 10 or Windows 7 Professional OS. What makes it different from other similar mobile tablets, is that is comes wtih Nvidia Quadro M500M GPU which shouldn't have trouble coping with 14-inch 2560x1440 IPS screen.

It also comes with Wacom Active ES Technology 2048 levels of sensitivity and Super Capacitor Pen which stores within the chassis as optional accessories which makes it appealing to professionals that use it for sketching and drawing.

According to Lenovo, the ThinkPad P40 Yoga should be available soon with a price starting at US $1,399.
