Nvidia adds new features to Geforce Experience

To push drivers over Geforce Experience

Nvidia has added a couple of new features to its Geforce Experience software, including a new in-game overlay, broadcast, GameStream co-op and in-home GameStream as well as revealed a plan that make the Geforce Experience a priority when it comes to Geforce driver updates.

Nvidia has launched its Geforce Experience software over two years ago and while it did added and update some features, Nvidia has now rolled out a biggest update so far, providing the Geforce Experience with new features.

The list of new features include a new in-game overlay that will allow easier access to gameplay recording, streaming and broadcasting features. The GameStream option has been also updated to offer 4K video encoding with 5.1 audio, something that its recently launched Shield Android TV can decode. This will allow users to stream games to their living room TV. Of course, you will need the second generation Maxwell GPU-based graphics card, so Kepler-based graphics cards our out.

In case you missed it, Geforce Experience GameStream has been previously limited to 1080p video and stereo audio.

The GameStream co-op will allow to stream your game to your friend via net and let them join in their web-browser. You will need at least 7Mbps connection on both ends in order for it to work.

Furthermore, the video broadcasting module has been updated allowing 1080p @ 60fps videos to be broadcasted.

In addition to those new features, Nvidia has also announced that it will focus on Geforce Experience as its priority when it comes to new Geforce drivers releases. According to Nvidia, over 90 percent of all driver updates have been recently distributed via Geforce Experience so it appears that, as of December, Game Ready drivers will now be pushed this way, or at least be available via Geforce Experience before being available for a regular download.

All new features will be available with Geforce 358.50 drivers and it would be wise to install or update Geforce Experience in case you are interested in some of these new features. Nvidia has also promised that plenty of new updates and features for Geforce Experience will be coming next year.
