MSI has unveiled its new GS40 Phantom Series gaming notebook that will be based on Intel's latest 6th generation Skylake Core i7 CPU and Nvidia GTX 970M graphics card with 3GB of GDDR5 memory.
According to MSI, thanks to Intel's new 6th generation Core i7 CPU, Nvidia GTX 970M graphics card and other components, the new MSI GS40 Phantom Series will provide plenty of performance in a thin and stealth 19.5-21.8mm-thick aluminum chassis, weighing in at 1.6kg. Apparently, MSI has decided to go for Intel's Core i7-6700HQ 45W quad-core CPU with Intel Hyper-Threading support, 6MB of L3 cache and 2.6GHz base and 3.5GHz Turbo clock.
The MSI GS40 Phantom Series will feature a 14-inch FHD screen, can be equipped with up to 32GB of DDR4-2133 memory, PCIe Gen3 SSD, Killer Doubleshot Ethernet and WiFI, ESS Sabre HiFi Audio DAC with Nahimic Audio Enhancer, USB 3.1 Type-C and USB 3.0 ports and a 4-cell battery.
The new GS40 Phantom Series also features MSI's Cooler Boost 3 technology which features five heatpipes and two fans which are actively cooling the GPU and CPU. It will feature three different profiles that will balance between performance and battery life, Sport, Comfort and Green.
