Toshiba has unveiled a refreshed version of its Chromebook 2 notebook adding Broadwell Celeron and Core i3 CPUs.

Based on a 13.3-inch 1080p IPS display, the Toshiba Chromebook 2 was already quite an impressive little notebook that just got better with Broadwell Celeron and Core i3 CPUs as well as a backlit-keyboard.

As noted, Toshiba was quite impressive 13.3-inch notebook even before it got the 5th generation Broadwell Core i3 or Celeron options, and included up to 2GB of DDR3L memory, 16GB of internal storage expandable via SD card slot, dual-band 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 3.0 port, front-facing stereo speakers, dual microphone array, HD webcam, and a 3-cell 3860mAh 44Wh battery that should keep it alive four around 8.5 hours of usage.

The new model also got a backlit-keyboard which is quite a surprise considering its price.

The precise dimensions of the Toshiba Chromebook 2 are set at 320x213x19.3mm and it weighs just 1.34kg.

The new models will be starting at US $330 for the Celeron CPU and US $430 for the Core i3 option. Both will be available as of next month.
