While biggest stars of the Apple's last night event were new iPhone smartphones and the new iPad Pro, Apple also unveiled the new iPad Mini 4 tablet.
While described during the event as the smaller iPad Air 2, it appears that there are quite a few key differences, including the lack of the A8X SoC. Based on a 7.85-inch 2048x1536 IPS LCD display, the iPad Mini 4 measures at 202.1x134.8x6.1mm and weighs 298.8g.
While the iPad Air 2 was based on A8X SoC, the iPad Mini 4 gets now quite aged A8 SoC with 2GB of RAM. It will be available in 16GB, 64GB and 128GB versions and an optional LTE-version. The new iPad Mini 4 also got a new 8-megapixel iSight camera from iPad Air 2 with F/2.4 aperture and 1.12 micron pixels.
The rest of the specifications include 19.1Whr battery, iOS 9 for OS, 802.11ac 2x2 WiFi and Bluetooth 4.1.
The iPad Mini 4 will be priced at $399 for 16GB, $499 for 64GB, and $599 for the 128GB version and should be available immediately.
