In the shadow of the Radeon R9 Nano, AMD almost managed to slip the Radeon R9 370X unnoticed. The R9 370X is based on Trinidad XT GPU and should go head to head with GTX 960 in the sub-$200 market.
As noted, the new Radeon R9 370X is based on 28nm Trinidad XT GPU (a repacked Pitcairn GPU), packs 1280 Stream Processors, 80 TMUs, 32 ROPs and comes with 2 or 4GB of GDDR5 memory paired up with a 256-bit memory interface.
While AMD did not make a lot of fuss, considering that it is just a rebadged Radeon R9 270X with slightly higher clock and more memory, Sapphire has jumped the gun and announced two Radeon R9 370X graphics cards, both features its Vapor-X cooler. Available in 2GB and 4GB versions, Sapphire's new Radeon R9 370X will works at close to 1200MHz for the GPU while memory will end up clocked at 5.6GHz,
according to Techpowerup.com.
Same as the Radeon R9 270X, the new Radeon R9 370X draws power from two 6-pin PCI-Express power connectors and has two DVI, one HDMI and one DisplayPort outputs.
Unfortunately, it appears that availability is currently limited to China only and it is still not clear when it will be available for the rest of the world, as we sure can't find it listed in Europe. The price should be at around US $199, depending on the version.
