According to the latest report, Intel plans to officially debut its 6th Generation Core Skylake desktop CPUs at Gamescom 2015 show, which will kick off in Cologne, Germany on 5th of August.
Reported by Digitimes.com, Intel will have plenty of Skylake CPUs to choose from but enthusiasts are certainly waiting for the two unlocked parts, the Core i7-6700K, and the Core i5-6600K. These quad-core SKUs will be based on LGA1151 socket and compatible with the upcoming Intel 100-series Express chipsets but will benefit the most on the Z170 Express chipset based motherboards where overclocking will be the key.
The integrated memory controller in Skylake CPUs support both DDR3 and DDR4 memory. In addition to the Z170 chipset motherboards and two unlocked Core i7-6700K and the Core i5-6600K Skylake CPUs, Intel will also launch the Core i7-6700/6700T, Core i5-6600, 6500, 6400, 6600T, 6500T and 6400T CPU as well as its H170 and B150 Express chipset motherboards in late-August, early-September. The late-September will be reserved for entry-level H110 chipset.
Intel's 6th generation Core Skylake CPUs are coming and we have certainly been waiting them for quite some time.
