We already knew and wrote that AMD's Fury lineup will face limited availability, mostly due to the complexity of the chip with the use of High Bandwidth Memory, but it appears that it will be even worse that we heard.
According to the latest report
coming from eTeknix.com, it appears that even reviewers will struggle on getting a sample and reviews of the new flagship Radeon Fury X will be limited to few sites. According to the report, AMD only has 10 Fury X samples for the entire Europe and reviewers are allowed to keep the sample for two days and send it to another site.
AMD also started to pick sites that will be the first to get a sample of the Radeon Fury X and it appears that some sites like KitGuru.com are off the list over "negative content" which is never a good thing.
This does not sound good and it raises the question of retail availability as well since, if AMD only has 10 samples of the graphics card for the entire Europe, it makes us wonder on how many Radeon Fury X graphics cards will actually end up on retail/e-tail shelves, especially with high demand, which will certainly hit if those early benchmarks are true.
In any case, it appears that AMD just can't catch a break and even when they do have a good chip, which Fiji GPU is judging from those same early details, they can't seem to get it to the market.
