After plenty of rumors and teasers, LG has now officially unveiled its latest flagship smartphone, the LG G4.
While there have been plenty of rumors and teasers, it appears that there are a few surprises left. Based around a 5.5-inch Quad HD 2560x1440 Quantum LCD panel (538ppi of pixel density), which promises 25 percent better brightness, 50 percent higher contrast and 20 percent wider color coverage, compared to the LG G3, the LG G4 measures at 148.9x76.1x6.3mm (9.8mm at its thickest point) and weighs 155g.
While there have plenty of talk regarding overheating issues with Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC, it appears that LG G4 won't be having those problems, as LG G4 will actually pack Qualcomm's Snapdragon 808 SoC. The Snapdragon 808 SoC is based on an hexa-core (4+2) design with four ARM Cortex-A53 and two ARM Cortex-A57 CPU cores and Adreno 418 GPU. It also comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD card slot.
LG's G4 smartphone comes with a main,
in-house made and recently announced by LG Innotek, 16-megapixel rear camera with f/1.8 apperture which gets 80 percent more light compared to the one on the LG G3 smartphone. Selfie-lovers will be happy with an 8-megapixel front camera with IR filter, which should show more natural and accurate colors.
LG G4 comes with a user-replaceable 3000mAh battery that should, according to LG, keep the G4 alive for a full day of normal usage. It runs on Android Lollipop OS with LG UX 4.0 on top of it.
The biggest and most teased feature of the LG G4 is its leather back lid. While leather-back is an option, standard LG G4 will come with a plastic back in Ceramic White, Metallic Gray or Gold color choices.
While LG did not talk about the availability date or the price during its launch event, some reports suggest that LG G4 should be available in Korea as of today, while the rest of the world should get it by the end of next month. The rumored price is set at somewhere around US $680, while leather edition version should be around US $100 more expensive.
