Kingston has announced its latest solid state drive series that will be a part of its HyperX division, the HyperX Savage SSD series.
Available in 120, 240, 480 and 960GB capacities, the new HyperX Savage SSD series is based on Phison S10 quad-core, eight-channel controller, paired up with Toshiba's 19nm MLC NAND and will replace the well known HyperX 3K SSD. Currently the fastest SATA-based SSD in the HyperX lineup, the new HyperX Savage offers sequential speeds of up to 560MB/s for read and 530MB/s for write with random 4K performance of 100,000 IOPS read and 89,000 IOPS write.
It is based on a standard 2.5-inch form-factor with SATA 6Gbps interface, the new HyperX Savage will be available as a stand-alone SSD or with an upgrade bundle kit which includes a 2.5-inch USB 3.0 enclosure, 3.5-inch bracket and mounting screws, SATA cable, hard drive cloning software, screwdriver and a 7mm to 9.5mm adapter.
Unfortunately, Kingston did not unveil any details regarding the availability date or the price, but a quick check at some retail/e-tail shops shows the HyperX Savage listed at 85€ for 120GB, 135€ for 240GB, 265€ for 480GB and 660€ for 960GB version.
