GTA V supports Nvidia GameWorks technologies

The Percentage Closer Soft Shadows (PCSS) and TXAA

Since Rockstar has now officially released a PC version of Grand Theft Auto V, Nvidia has announced that the game supports two important Nvidia GameWorks technologies and also work well on Nvidia Geforce hardware.

In a blog post written by Brian Burke, Nvidia was quite keen to now that earlier press preview, which shows the game running on PC in its full glory, was actually running on Nvidia Geforce GTX 980 GPUs in SLI mode and that Nvidia customers are set for "an outstanding experience in that world from day one."

In addition to bragging about the earlier released demo, Nvidia has also announced that GTA V also has support for two quite important Nvidia GameWorks technologies, Percentage Closer Soft Shadows (PCSS) and TXAA. The PCSS should add more realistic soft shadows to games while TXAA anti-aliasing technique should reduce the crawling and flickering seen in motion when playing games.

As you probably already know, Nvidia has already released its Geforce 350.12 WHQL-certified Game Ready drivers which bring all the needed optimizations as well as SLI and 3D Vision profiles for Grand Theft Auto V.
