QNAP has announced its newest and affordable 10GbE-ready network-attached storage (NAS), the QNAP TVS-863+.
Based on AMD 64-bit quad-core 2.4GHz clocked chip paired up with 8GB of DDR3L-1600 RAM (upgradeable to 16GB), it offers single pre-installed 10GbE PCI-E NIC (single port) in a single PCI-Express x4 Gen2 slot. It also comes with AMD Radeon HD graphics which will provide hardware-accelerated transcoding performance and dual HDMI outputs.
The new QNAP TVS-863+ provides up to 64TB of storage capacity in eight 3.5/2.5-inch SATA 6Gbps drive bays and also comes with five USB 3.0 ports with support for USB printer, pen drive, USB UPS and similar devices. The entire unit is cooled by two quiet 12cm fans. In addition to the 10GbE NIC, the TVS-863+ also features two additional Gigabit LAN ports.
Unfortunately, QNAP did not reveal any details regarding the price or the availability date of the new TVS-863+ NAS.
