Philips has launched its latest 34-inch 21:9 aspect ratio monitor, the Philips BFM34670UP. Packing an AH-IPS panel with 3440x1440 resolution, the new BDM34670UP is clearly aimed at professionals which need that specific aspect ratio.
As noted, the Philips BDM34670UP is based on a 34-inch AH-IPS panel with 3440x1440 resolution and 10-bit color palette (1.07 billion colors). The rest of the specifications include a maximum brightness of 320 cd/m², 178°/178° viewing angles and dual-link DVI, DisplayPort and MHL inputs.
The Philips BDM34670UP also comes with two independent USB hubs, a 2-port USB 2.0 hub and a 2-port USB 3.0 hub with fast-charging USB port. The stand is capable of height, tilt and rotate adjustments which is quite standard for a monitor aimed at professional use.
With these specifications, it is quite obvious that this is made for multi-tasking and content-creation professionals that are in need of that specific aspect ratio and not looking for a 16:9 4K/UHD monitor.
Currently available in Denmark, the Philips BDM34670UP is priced at around US $1,200 inc. taxes and has been available in Taiwan for quite some time with a price set at around US $920. Currently, similar BDM3470UP is currently listed in Europe for around €920 to €1000 depending on the region.
