It was just a matter of time before we see some first pictures of what appears to be the earlier rumors "big Maxwell" GM200 GPU that should be behind the rumored new GTX Titan-X graphics card.
Coming from Chinese site
Tieba.Baidu.com and spotted by
Videocardz.com, the new pictures show the GM200 engineering PCB board. While the source did not reveal any details regarding specifications, pictures clearly show 24 Hynix memory chips clocked at 7GHz, forming 12GB of memory paired up with a 384-bit memory interface, which lines up with recently spotted GPU-Z database listing of the Quadro M6000.
While still in its prototype phase, the board is missing the DVI port but does feature three DisplayPort as well as HDMI 2.0 output which puts it in line with GTX 980 display output configuration. As noted, the source did not talk about precise specifications of the GM200-400-A1 GPU, but this is most likely the fully enabled chip with 3072 CUDA cores and 96 ROPs.
Unfortunately, the pictures did not show the VRM part of the prototype board but it is quite possible that this one will end up with at 8+6-pin PCI-Express power connectors.
The new Nvidia GTX Titan graphics card is expected to launch sometime this quarter, since Nvidia launched two last Titan graphics cards in February. Hopefully, we will see more details regarding the upcoming GTX Titan-X quite soon.
