Microsoft has launched its voice translator for Skype and for the moment it only supports English and Spanish languages, while waiting for its capabilities to evolve.
While in Europe we still have just a modification of the Skype UI, those which attended the Preview of Skype Translator and who spoke English or Spanish, have been able to talk in a language which is not theirs, all thanks to the new Skype translator.
The presentation test was performed between two schools located in the USA and Mexico. As outlined in the following video, the use is more than simple and opens opportunities for learning of new languages and for communication in general. We would like to have the same thing on our website to be able to talk to all Europe without having to translate everything every time, which is probably what we will be looking at in future.
Once their project is completed, forty languages will be available for Skype Translator and it will then be possible to talk with the rest of the world without worrying about whether or not you speak the language of the person that will on the other end of the line.
