BIOSTAR unveils a new mATX A70M motherboard

The A70MGP

BIOSTAR is the first manufacturer to announce a motherboard based on A70M chipset for AMD socket FM2, the Biostar A70MGP.

With the A58 and A68H chipsets, owners of APU were limited to USB 2.0 ports and SATA 3Gbps ports. The A70M changes things and opens socket FM2+ to the joys of USB 3.0 and SATA 6Gbps.

The new BIOSTAR A70MGP micro-ATX motherboard will pair up AMD's socket FM2+ APU with a maximum of 32 GB of DDR3-2600 memory in two DIMM slots. Next to it, is a PCIe 3.0 x16, a PCIe 2.0 x1 and a PCI slot. For storage, the A70MGP comes with four SATA 6Gbps ports. Its rear connector lineup consists of a PS/2 keyboard/mouse combo port, two USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports, a D-Sub output, an RJ45 Ethernet port and standard audio jacks.

The motherboard is compatible with AMD Dual Graphics Technology, allowing you to add a GPU to your APU. Unfortunately, BIOSTAR did not unveil any precise date of availability or the price, but it should be on retail/e-tail shelves soon.
