During this year, AV-Comparative made several safety test of the most represented anti-virus software on the market. Today, we have fresh results for October 2014.

At AV-Comparative, the test protocol is simple as they look at what is stopped, what is not stopped, and which threats requires the intervention of the user.

The reference base of the rating and comparison is are Windows 7 and Windows 8 OS. As you can in the graph below the majority of anti-virus software are quite good at protecting your system but some do stand out and offer some features that other do not.

Thus, the top three at the podium are the Trend Micro (100 %), Qihoo - 360 (99.8 %) as well as Kaspersky and Bitdefender ex Aequo (99.5 %). This also does not mean that other solutions are bad, but this should give you a general idea of the current quality of each anti-virus software.
