Google has finally started to release Android 5.0 Lollipop update to some of its Nexus product family via over-the-air (OTA) updates or via factory image which is available for download.
Currently, the new Android Lollipop 5.0 update is coming to Nexus 5, both Nexus 7 2013 and Nexus 7 2012 as well as the Nexus 10 via OTA updates. Google
has also released factory images of the new OS for download. The lone Nexus 4 will also eventually get that same update but Google has yet to release the Android 5.0 Lollipop factory image for this device.
Currently only Nexus 7 WiFi-only devices will get the update while those with 3G connectivity will have to wait a bit longer. The new Android 5.0 Lollipop update has been rather well accepted by most manufacturers and it looks like most, if not all manufacturers, are ready for it since Motorola has already announced the same update for it Moto G 2014 and Moto X 2014 devices while LG has already started to roll out the update for the LG G3 smartphone.
The rest of the devices and manufacturers will probably follow soon and it appears that most of the newer devices will be running on Android 5.0 Lollipop before the end of the year.
