While most people are talking about Chris Roberts' Star Citizen game, there is yet another big space simulation coming soon, Frontier Developments' Elite: Dangerous. Finally, the game got an official release date and is now scheduled to launch on December 16.


While the game is currently available for pre-order as the Elite: Dangerous Mercenary Edition which includes the game, an addition Eagle fighter, ship custom add-ons, Day One decal and other digital goodies for $50, and is also US $9.99 cheaper when compared to the final release price.

All those crowd-funded backers that already own Beta access will get the Mercenary Pack when the game is released.

In case you are a bit younger, Elite: Dangerous is the successor of a 1984 space simulation called Elite.
