As AMD has given a green light for an 8GB version of the Radeon R9 290X graphics card, Club3D has now officially announced its new Radeon R9 290X royalAce 8GB. The new R9 290X royalAce offers double the amount of video memory which is ideal for gaming on higher resolutions, such as 4K/UHD.
The new 8GB version of the Club3D R9 290X royalAce should be quite similar to the original R9 290X royalAce which was released earlier by Club3D. The new graphics card also features the triple-fan and triple-slot CoolStream cooler with with five copper heatpipes.
While such 8GB Radeon R9 290X graphics cards should not be popular with FullHD gamers, those looking to game on higher resolutions such as 4K/UHD, will definitely see some performance improvements, especially in multi-GPU configurations.
Club3D decided to keep both the GPU and memory clocks at same factory-overclocked values as on the 4GB model, or precisely, 1'030 MHz (in overclock mode) for the GPU and 5.5GHz for the 8GB of GDDR5 memory.
The Club3D R9 290X royalAce 8GB also comes with two DVI-D, a HDMI and a DisplayPort display output.
Unfortunately, the price of the Club3D Radeon R9 290X 8GB version is still unknown but it should not be long before we see those in retail/e-tail.
