It will be easy to update to Windows 10

From Windows 7 or Windows 8

While there have been plenty of rumors regarding updating from earlier Windows versions to the new Windows 10, Microsoft has now come up with an official announcement on its Windows Blog which suggest that it will be possible to upgrade to the upcoming Windows 10 OS via update from Windows 7 or Windows 8.

Jim Alkove, the Director of the Program Management at Microsoft, has posted a rather neat update at the Windows Blog, which is meant to reassure all those who fear to upgrade their OS to a newer version.

According to the Blog post, users coming from Windows 7 and Windows 8, will first have to install all the updates on Windows Update to pave the way and then when Windows 10 finally comes out, a few simple clicks will update their system to Windows 10 without losing any data or having to worry about drivers.

In addition, Microsoft made sure that the necessary configuration requirements for the new OS are not higher than with the previous versions. Professionals and IT technicians which recently had to migrate systems from Windows XP, will definitely be happy to hear about Microsoft's upgrade plans.

Now it we can only wait until 2015 to see how it all works out for Microsoft and users.
