Nexus 6 "Shamu" benchmarked with GeekBench

Scores the highest score

There have been plenty of rumors regarding the upcoming Nexus 6 "Shamu" smartphone coming from Motorola and scheduled to launch this month, but now we finally have some first benchmark details where the new Nexus managed to be the fastest Android smartphone on the market.

Phonearena.com spotted the upcoming Nexus 6 Shamu on Geekbench and according to first results it appears that this might be the fastest Android smartphone up to date. While it is expectedly below the Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 5S in Geekbench 3.2 single-core results, it manages to outperform every single smartphone on the Geekbench 3.2 multi-core results.

While the benchmark does not give much details regarding the specifications of the Nexus 6 Shamu, recent rumors suggest that we will be looking at a 5.9-inch Quad HD (2560x1440) resolution screen, Android L OS and Qualcomm's Snapdragon 805 SoC paired up with 3GB of RAM. While Samsung's latest Galaxy Note 4 smartphone is not on the list, the results should be quite close, although Nexus might have a slight advantage due to its "clean OS".

Hopefully the rumored announcement date is true and we will see the new Nexus 6 Shamu quite soon.
